This is the official page of the Wise County Historical Society, Wise County Historical Commission, and the Wise History Museum. Though we lost the beautiful old museum building and all its contents to a devastating fire in March 2023, the Historical Society and the Historical Commission are still alive with the activity of preserving Wise County’s past. MSGT Charles Braun was a WWII, Korea and Vietnam (2 tours) veteran. He moved to Newark in the early 70’s and has resided here since. We really want to celebrate his 100th birthday in grand fashion! Please come out around 9:45 AM on September 16, 2026, for the parade and celebration in Boyd, TX.
