Everyone had a great morning at the library learning super hero simple science experiments with DoDad’s Labs.

Creature Features Zoo will be coming to Meigs Decatur Public Library on Thursday, July 25th, at 1pm bringing some small, exotic creatures. Come see and learn about some special animals. 🐿️🦊🐨🦔

Meigs-Decatur Public library will be closed this coming Friday in observance of Juneteenth. We will be open again on Saturday morning at 10 AM. 

This Saturday at 11:00 at Meigs-Decatur Public Library come meet the professor from DoDab’s Lab and join in the hands-on science based performances that include storytelling music, puppets, and more. It is enjoyable learning fun for all ages! Free and open to everyone!

We unearthed science today at the summer reading program. The kids really enjoyed the three hands-on experiments. The volcano was flowing for everyone. The dancing raisin experiment was quieter. Some of the raisins were not good dancers. The final one, amazing arrows, captured everyone to see the arrows reverse when light goes through water.
Our rainbow making experiment is still on display. It was a fun day.

On Thursday, June 25, from 1-2, we are excited to welcome Creature Features for a one hour live animal program for kids and families. Everyone is welcome. 🐇🦔🕷️

Unearthing coastal treasures today at Meigs Decatur Summer Reading Program. Lots of colorful, messy, and creative fun.

The third day of the food distribution seven day meal pack for children 18 and under will be Thursday, 11 June 2026, from 10-12 at the library. The boxes are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Search a treasure trove of children’s and adult fiction and non-fiction, along with DVDs that will take you away! Opening in three weeks! All proceeds help support your local public library.
