Her parents haven’t been able to give her a haircut in almost a year because she really doesn’t like her head and hair being touched. It took almost 30 minutes just to get her hair combed through, but we did it!! She was a total rockstar and her, Mom, and Dad left with smiles on their faces!

Trimming down an hour and a half long appointment to 2 minutes feels impossible sometimes. But here are some of the highlights!

TLDR; the uncomfortable truth is that one main common practice within the hair industry when dealing with neurodivergent children who struggle to get a haircut is physical restraint. That can look like:
- 1 or more adults holding down a child
- strapping a child into a chair
- using a headlock

I’ve worked with so many families who have stories like this. I’m here to tell them it doesn’t have to be that way anymore! I offer an approach that is lead by compassion, patience and understanding.

My goal is to help make kind and humane practices the industry standard 💕

Made a huge deal out of literally nothing but I’m happy with it!! I can be very averse to trying new things and being experimental, so in 2026 I wanted to step out of that alittle. Maybe next I’ll add a double slit 🙊🙊

If I’m gonna ask my clients to do things that scare them, I need to lead by example! 💃🏻

One way I make my services more inclusive is by making space for curiosity and asking questions. I LOVE to empower my clients - explaining what we’re doing or how something works is just one way to do that.
This kid is so near and dear to my heart and it fills my cup to see him have breakthroughs like this. 🥹
