North Decatur Presbyterian Church
Called to serve, work for peace and justice and share God's love with all people. Go directly to www We warmly welcome you to visit us!
Join us for Sunday School (9:30 - 10:30) and for our weekly worship service which begin at 8:30am and 11:00am.
Our summer sermon series based on requests from NDPC members begins with a subject that affects us all: our relationship to technology. Digital technology has changed every human life, from access to the internet, to cell phones in every pocket, to relationships mediated by digital platforms. Human transformation appears to be accelerating with the arrival of Artificial Intelligence. Has digital tech changed you for the better or for the worse? What, if anything, does this have to do with God? What word does the church have to say? We explore good, evil, and digital technology this Sunday. Rev. Lewicki, preaching.
This Sunday, we celebrate the 3rd “Feast Day” in the life of the Christian church: Pentecost.
Pentecost does not have a lot of famous carols to sing, we do not cut a Pentecost tree down and bring it into our living room for the summer, and the Pentecost bunny does not bring children chocolates in wicker baskets.
But Pentecost is a fantastically beautiful holiday that celebrates the quirky, mischievous, marvelous movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
This Sunday, we close our worship series on Philippians with a reflection on Philippians 4:4–9. What might it mean to “rejoice always” in a world that feels so uncertain? And how could such joy steady our hearts and minds in Christ? We will celebrate our teachers and our shared commitment to growing in faith.
Preaching: Rev. Mary Anona Stoops
Guest Vocalist: Gillian Hollis
For 3 Sundays (May 3, 10, 17), we are exploring the Apostle Paul’s correspondence with the church at Philippi. This Sunday, we hear Paul talk about the centrality of faith to a meaningful life. But whose faith does he think matters? Yours, or Christ's? Rev. Lewicki, preaching.

This week on the Day1 Radio Show and the Day1 Weekly Podcast, Rev. Mary Anona Stoops of North Decatur Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia brings a thoughtful message titled “Loving Life Without Rejecting Death.”
Reflecting on John 11:1–45, the story of Lazarus, this sermon invites us to consider how faith calls us to embrace the fullness of life while honestly facing the reality of death. What does it mean to live faithfully in the tension between grief and hope?

Dear NDPC Community,
As you know, food insecurity continues to affect many of our neighbors:
● 1 in 7 adults in Georgia experiences food insecurity and
● 1 in 5 children in Georgia do not have consistent access to food
Through the upcoming Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk Run on Sunday, March 15, NDPC is stepping up to help our neighbors--and we'd love to count you in!
This year, funds raised by Team NDPC will directly support the Toco Hills Community Alliance (THCA), our community partner that provides food assistance to families in Toco Hills. THCA must raise $30,000 through the Hunger Walk to sustain its food ministry this year.
Our ask for help: make a difference in the lives of our neighbors by taking 5 minutes to donate $5. Even $5 helps THCA purchase 15 meals through the Atlanta Community Food Bank and support the families who need it most!
I am proud to announce that NDPC has already raised $1,600 for THCA, but I believe our congregation can play a bigger role in helping THCA reach the neediest members of our community.
To donate, please visit https://engage.acfb.org/site/TR?fr_id=2223&pg=pfind and search “Team NDPC” under Donate to a Team.
We are also still looking for 5 more people to walk with us on Team NDPC on March 15. The walk is open to all ages, is wheelchair accessible, and is a meaningful way we can work together to support our community! See details below on how to register.
Thank you for helping NDPC care for our neighbors and address hunger in our community. Now more than ever we need to lend a hand!
Sincerely,
Cheryl Eschbach
