Some of our club members spent the weekend at beautiful Camp ASCAA on the banks of Lake Martin. It was a gorgeous setting, and the weather really cooperated.

We were specifically volunteering at TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) Camp along with other Pilots from clubs throughout the state. TBI Camp is a big project for Alabama District Pilot International and we enjoyed socializing with our fellow members as much as helping our campers have a steller experience.

Pictured is the view of the lake from the deck of the main building/dining hall. The camp included hay rides, putt-putt golf, a talent show, arts & crafts, and a multitude of other activities. Many campers have been attending this weekend camp for years and were excited to come back and see their friends. What a great experience for all of us!

We were grateful to have Sheriff Ron Puckett speak to our club about ways to avoid frauds and scams (hint: HANG UP YOUR PHONE WHEN PEOPLE ASK YOU FOR MONEY!). It was kind of Sheriff Puckett to provide his time and we learned a few things that will help protect us. Win-win!

BREAKING NEWS! Due to irrigation remediation at Pt. Mallard Golf Course, our tournament has been extended to Saturday, June 27th. All previous teams who have played with us will be emailed and/or texted this change. If you have already signed up to play, please correct your calendar! More information will be forthcoming. This was a big surprise to us, but we are Pilots, steering a stable (golf) course. See you on June 27th!

The Pilot Club of Decatur met with Senator Orr to receive a contribution for our big golf tournament in May. Thank you Senator Orr and thank you to our lovely Pilot ladies.

The Pilot Club of Decatur has been gifted a beautiful set of Noritake china which we are selling via Firehouse Antiques Station #2 on 6th Avenue in Decatur. There are 12 complete place settings including dinner, salad, and bread plates, two small bowls (fruit/dessert and cereal), and a cup and saucer. There are also the accessory pieces shown here.

A place setting of the china can be viewed at Firehouse Antiques in Pam's booth; please ask at the counter. All proceeds, minus the antique store's commission, will be given to The Pilot Club for use in its programs which include the Decatur Police Department, Alabama's Project Lifesaver program and assistance for those with brain trauma, as well as many more.

We are asking $220 for the entire set and will entertain thoughtful "best offers".
