Fall in Alabama brings its own share of heavy rain days, and this is the single easiest maintenance item people ignore until it's actually raining hard and they can't see.

Wiper blades typically last 6-12 months before the rubber edge starts cracking or losing its clean wipe. Signs yours are done: streaking across the windshield, skipping instead of a smooth wipe, or a squeaking sound with every pass.

A new set of blades runs $20-40 installed and takes five minutes. Replace them on a clear day, not during the next downpour.
