All of us depend on a clean and abundant water supply to support our way of life. We envision healthy lands, healthy water and healthy living for all.

The Dixon Water Foundation promotes healthy watersheds through sustainable land management to ensure that we have the water resources we need for now and for generations to come. Through our ranch demonstration sites and the grants we fund, we hope to ultimately impact how Texans protect the great environmental resources of our state.

Rancher to Rancher Event at Leo Ranch May 19, 2026

This isn't a seminar. It's a conversation among ranchers who asked hard questions, rebuilt their business models around what they're actually good at, and made their land pay.

Hosted on the award-winning Leo Ranch, Decatur, Texas.

We had a great time at the annual conference last week in Houston. Congrats to the students who had featured posters and oral presentations. We were excited to see 3 posters from students showing preliminary results for work that includes our West Texas Mimms Unit. #

It’s been hard work breaking ice and maintaining water availability to the cattle, horses, sheep and dogs on the ranches. Despite the cold, everything is doing well. Thanks to our committed ranch managers!

Dixon Water Foundation is pleased to support Pollinator Research by UNT’s Biology Department. Today Professor Elinor Lichtenberg‘s masters student Avery Pearson is doing her fieldwork at our North Texas Ranches. What a beautiful fall day to be out with a big net looking for insects. Keep up the great work!
