The silence is costing lives. 💙

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

Nearly 24.6 million men in the U.S. experience a mental health condition every year. Most never say a word.

Because they were taught that strength means silence.

It doesn’t.

Swipe through for the facts, the signs, and how to help the men you love. 👉🏾

Grateful doesn’t even cover it. 🙏🏾

I was recently featured by and getting to share my journey — the salon, the mentorship, the wellness work — in one place felt like a full circle moment.

If you’ve ever wondered what drives me, this one’s for you. Head to the link in my bio to read the full interview.

250 downloads. February to May.
Just me, my phone, my faith, and y’all. 🙏🏾

When I pressed record for the first time on Valentine’s Day — I honestly didn’t know if anyone was going to show up.

You showed up.

This week’s episode is short. It’s raw. And it’s a thank you straight from my heart — to God for the assignment, to my son for being my why, and to every single one of you who pressed play, shared an episode, or sat with me through your morning routine.

You didn’t just download a podcast. You chose to let me into your world.

250 is not the ceiling. It’s the floor. And we are just getting started. 🔥

New episode is up NOW. Link in bio. 🔗

🔑 A room full of future beauty professionals. A panel seat with my name on it. And a message I’ve been carrying for years.
I had the honor of being invited to Spelman College by the Spelman Society of Cosmetics & Beauty Bliss Lab to speak on the importance of the cosmetology & barber industry to Atlanta’s youth.
As a Master Cosmetology Educator and salon owner, I don’t take these moments lightly. This seat was built — brick by brick.

Nobody talks about this enough, so I will. 🪑✂️

Behind this chair I have heard breakups, breakdowns, grief, fear, joy, trauma, and everything in between. And I know I am not the only one. Beauty professionals and barbers are some of the most trusted people in our clients’ lives — and most of us never signed up to be that. It just became part of who we are in this work.
That is a gift. And it is also a weight.

This Mental Health Awareness Month I wanted to create something specifically for us — the stylists, the barbers, the booth renters, the salon owners, the lash techs, the nail artists — everyone who pours into people all day long and then goes home wondering why they feel so empty.

Swipe through this carousel because what you are feeling has a name. Compassion fatigue is real. Emotional exhaustion is real. And you deserve support just as much as every client you serve.

You cannot pour from an empty cup — and this industry will drain you quietly if you let it. 🌿

So this is your reminder:
→ Your mental health matters
→ Your boundaries are professional, not personal
→ Seeking help is not weakness — it is wisdom
→ You are allowed to fill your own cup first

Save this. Share it with every beauty and barber professional you know. Tag your booth neighbor. Send it to your stylist. This conversation is overdue. ✂️

Drop a ✂️ in the comments if you have ever carried a client’s story home with you. You are not alone in that.

🔑 When Spelman calls, you show up.

I was honored to be invited by the Spelman Society of Cosmetics & Beauty Bliss Lab to speak on a panel about the cosmetology & barber industry — and what it means for the youth of Atlanta.
As a Master Cosmetology Educator and salon owner, this is exactly the work I was built for. The beauty industry isn’t just about hair. It’s about legacy, livelihood, and leadership.
The next generation deserves to know that. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

I read a story the other day of the origin of Mother’s Day and I said, “wow the truth always seems to find its way out.” I do see how capitalism has turned it into a gain and most of us have fell into suit.

However, some of us are coming or have never stop honoring our mothers for the care they give to us. I told a friend I believe that the honoring of the mother still happens in some families and at church etc.

So, my point for saying this is let’s continue to honor the mothers who have paved the way for your journey rather it’s your bio mom, grandmother, auntie, cousin etc. send time with them. Learn from them bcuz they have something to teach you and you have something to teach them.

Our villages are what we make them and if you feel seen and supported positively it’s your responsibility to give back to it.

To all those feeling lost, anger, or just can’t explain your emotions I stand with you and know I’m holding your hand through it all. 🫂

Mothers don’t devalue this day HONOR yourself allow ppl to honor you. As black women it is challenging enough to receive love, so I challenge you sis to do it for the mothers who can’t be here and for the mothers to come. Let’s show them how we grow, honor, respect, and love each other today. 💫

Happy Mothers Day, beautiful 💐
