Ashleigh Johnson-Jones is a sophomore Secondary English Education major. She is from St. Louis, MO. Ashleigh aspires to attend Law School after graduation.

A fun fact about Ashleigh is that she loves dogs! She has a pitbull and a chihuahua.

A piece of advice Ashleigh gives to her students is to make sure to always proofread and have someone else review your writing, because another set of eyes never hurts!

💙MEET THE TUTOR💙

Lily Bryson (she/they) is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major from Joliet, IL. After graduating, she plans to move to Chicago to pursue a career in stage performance.

On campus, she serves as the Panhellenic Delegate for Alpha Chi Omega and the Treasurer for Sigma Alpha Iota. They are a member of Alpha Psi Omega and Alpha Lambda Delta, a contributing writer to BURST Magazine, a company member of the tap group Gregory, and a SOTAD Script Library attendant. Lily is involved in the honors program as a James Millikin Presidential Scholar, and previously served as the Director of Development for Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre for the 2022-23 school year. You can see her performing as Marcy Park in Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee starting on October 27th!

This is Lily’s second year as a tutor. Her favorite piece of writing advice is to start with a concrete thesis; it acts as your guide for the rest of the paper and helps keep your writing on topic. When you’re struggling with finding the perfect word, don’t be afraid to put down a placeholder and keep writing! It’s better to get words on the page and revise them later than to keep staring at a blank document. Something is always better than nothing!
