Guest speaker last week Bruce Nims. He spoke about two hiking adventures in Europe.

Then this week’s guest speaker was our very own Duane McCoskey who spoke to his life long affair with coffee. Members can now differentiate between ‘Arabica’ and ‘Robusta’, green bean and roasting styles.

A single coffee tree produces about 1 pound of roasted coffee beans per year, which comes from approximately 2,000 coffee cherries, each containing two seeds. This means a tree yields around 4,000 raw coffee beans annually.

More fishing today, Early Birds Kiwanis helping Passion Church Kids Camp.

Our Club boys out fishing again today with Passion Church Kids.

And today, Golden K Kiwanis passed the “Traveling Gavel” which will be forwarded to every club in the Division until it finally lands at the Home Club of the Lt. Governor. Photo of our President Sherry receiving the gavel.

Last Thursday, Brian E Smith, Chairman, Macon County Democratic Central Committee.

And today, Melissa Hon, Decatur City Manager, spoke about various aspects of the City especially focused on the Revitalization Plan and the upcoming Comprehensive Plan.

Mt. Zion schools brought 180 students to be part of our club fishing program today. Several were first time anglers. There was Lunch for adults and kids at park. 4 busses of kids joined us today.
