🎨 Art Explorations 2026 is in the books! A week of art, creativity, and fun at the ACA, all led by Calhoun Art Instructor Ms Tracie Bradford. This whole week was about Exploring New Worlds. We are so excited to share just a few precious moments and the work these talented young artists created. 🖼️ We cannot wait until next year’s Art Explorations to see what is created!!!

✨ Our Japanese Stab Binding Workshop was a huge success! Participants explored the art of traditional Japanese bookbinding and learned four different stitching patterns, each with its own unique design and technique. From start to finish, students were engaged, creative, and excited to see their handmade journals come to life. It was a fun-filled experience of learning, craftsmanship, and artistic expression. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable and inspiring workshop! 📚

A pineapple party is the best paint party! 🍍 Thank you Tracie Bradford for leading a creative and Summer funfilled paint night. Bright colors were thrown around the canvasses and there was so much laughter by all. 😂 Thank you to all who came out for our event. We hope to see everyone at our Painter’s Studio in the Fall! 🎨

What a weekend of creativity! 🧵✨ We had the absolute best time getting crafty at our first Creative Corners workshop this past Saturday. Everyone learned the foundational folding and stitching techniques used in Coptic Binding, and were able to use that knowledge to finish their books at home. Our next Creative Corners workshop will be in a couple of weeks and will demonstrate another form of stitching - Japanese Stab Binding. It's a bookbinding summer! 📚

We are so incredibly proud of our Calhoun Fine Arts students who competed at the National SkillsUSA Conference in Atlanta last week. Calhoun Community College took 35 student competitors, 14 from Fine Arts, along with faculty and staff to compete in various competitions. 15 medals were brought back to Calhoun, including 3 Silver for the Career Pathways Showcase: Arts and Communications Team of Liz Donnelly, Dallas Turner, and Parsa Vard, under the mentorship of Daniel Beard. Along with that, several of our Fine Arts students earned SkillPoint recognition certificates in Fine Arts (Jae Craig, Ves Haynes, and Tyler White) for their knowledge scores in their competitions. Congratulations to all Calhoun students on their hard work, professionalism, and dedication! Go Warhawks!
