This Tuesday, the Law Enforcement II class had the opportunity to take a field trip to the Weatherford College Police Academy, where students experienced a true day in the life of a police cadet. From observing classroom lectures to watching hands on patrol skill scenarios, our students gained valuable insight into the training and dedication required in the law enforcement profession.
A special thank you to Class 72 for welcoming us, taking the time to show us around, and sharing your experiences. We truly appreciate your hospitality and the opportunity to give our students a glimpse into their future careers! 🚔👮‍♂️

We had an incredible opportunity for our PCT students to tour Scottish Rite Hospital for Children today! They were able to explore real-world healthcare environments, learn from professionals, and gain insight into future career paths.

Today, Deputy Simpson and his K9 partner, Prime, from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, visited the Law Enforcement classes to showcase a specialized division of policing. Students gained valuable insight into how K9 units are trained to apprehend suspects, conduct tracking operations, and detect narcotics. We are grateful to Deputy Simpson and K9 Prime for dedicating their time and expertise to our students.

Today, Mr. Morton, a Bomb Technician with Denton County, visited the Law Enforcement classes at Decatur High School. He highlighted the many career paths available in public safety beyond traditional policing, such as firefighting and bomb disposal. Students also had the unique opportunity to engage in a live robot demonstration. We are grateful to Mr. Morton for sharing his time and expertise with our class.
