Did you know? π
The Juneteenth flag was created in 1997 by activist Ben Haith, known as βBoston Benβ, and features symbolism representing the end of slavery and the journey of Black Americans.
Its red, white, and blue colors purposefully mirror the American flag to signify that enslaved people and their descendants are Americans, featuring a central white star that represents Texas and freedom across all 50 states.

Did you know?
The first Memorial Day is believed to have been organized by newly freed Black Americans in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1865 to honor Union soldiers who died fighting to end slavery. Their powerful tribute helped shape the tradition of remembering Americaβs fallen heroes, a history that deserves to be remembered every Memorial Day.
Today, we honor and remember.
