It sure has been a minute! Last year was extremely busy for me, and it’s taken time to get everything all in order for SBP’s Atlanta relaunch. I’m excited to say things are ready to go, and I’m now open for spring booking! More to come from me soon. I hope you had a great 2022 and are starting strong in 2023. 😘

This Thanksgiving Eve, I’m celebrating the one year anniversary of launching the SBP social media accounts!

This whole venture started as a wild idea in the summer of 2020, and I finally felt ready to start sharing some of my work by November. In January of this year, I officially launched my LLC, and now here we are!

I’m so grateful for every friend, fellow photographer, and client I’ve met along the way. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Thank you for trusting me to capture your moments.

Allee-Sutton is giving us throwback iPod ad vibes!

This was a super fun lighting setup from Readylight Media using red-, green-, and blue-gelled strobes to balance the light hitting the subject while throwing fun, colored shadows. It reminded me a lot of a projection TV that a family friend had when I was growing up.

A change of outfit and a change of background can change the vibe of your headshot—so it's easy to get a variety of images out of a simple headshot session!

I want to introduce you to Kait and Renata, the hilarious hosts of The Worst Bestsellers. Kait is one of my very best friends, and Renata is maybe the funniest person I’ve ever met in real life. Together, they read popular books of questionable quality—so you don’t have to!

I had the pleasure of doing a mini brand shoot with them recently, and I think I accurately captured the ✨vibes✨ of their podcast: namely hilarity.

When it’s time for a brand shoot, you have to think about what visuals you can create that are unique to you. You can’t talk about WBS without mentioning The Rock, Wolverine, or Twilight, so we definitely got those important shots—plus a wide variety of shots of Kait and Renata laughing, since that’s the heart of the show.

You’d better get used to seeing this gorgeous face because you’re going to be seeing a lot of her around here as I work through my edits from last weekend’s lighting workshop with Readylight Media Media. Allee-Sutton Hethcoat was our model, and she. killed. it.

As I’ve tried my hand at a bunch of different types of photography, I’ve found myself really drawn to the control of the studio. After this Next Level Workshop, I’m *thrilled* to put my new knowledge of controlling and getting creative with light to work in my photography.

I had no concept of the things you can do with gels, but my eyes have definitely been opened. Whew. And it’s hard to overstate how much a model with experience and expertise can up a photographer’s game! With Jeff creating lighting setups and Allee-Sutton serving incredible looks, it was basically impossible to take a bad picture. It was also invaluable to hear a model’s input on a shoot—it’s definitely going to make me a stronger photographer.

Highly, highly recommend Next Level Workshops if you get the opportunity; I know the lessons learned are going to stick with me a long time and will bring my portfolio up to the ~next level~ for sure.
