Join us tomorrow for the first public meeting for the Decatur Terrace Small Area Plan!
The Decatur Terrace SAP aims to protect Decatur Terrace as change occurs, guide new development, address flooding, traffic calming, and pedestrian safety, and identify early actions and strategic investments to spark long-term neighborhood improvement.

The DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability Department has officially launched the short-term rental (STR) program! All STR owners/operators have 30 days to apply for and obtain a STR license using the new portal: https://portal.deckard.com/ga-dekalb-str-portal

Did you know that you can nominate a historic district/historic property? DeKalb County has plenty of history that can be protected by local historic designation, and YOU can nominate property or areas for consideration. Several criteria that can be used to determine property eligibility, including age (over 50 years), special architectural significance (can be under 50 years), and/or historic association (can be under 50 years).

The Historic Preservation Commissiong (HPC) reviews COA applications and provides recommendations on all things historic preservation! Made up of 7 members, the HPC meets every 3rd Monday of the month. All meetings are open to the public.

The Decatur Terrace Small Area Plan is hosting its first public meeting!
All Decatur Terrace community members are invited to share their thoughts on the Small Area Plan at a public meeting on Thursday, June 4, from 5:30-7:30pm at the DeKalb County Government Service Center, 178 Sams Street, Decatur, GA 30030. Please allow time for building security!

Did you know that DeKalb County has two historic districts? The Druid Hills and Soapstone Ridge Historic Districts are protected in DeKalb County, and a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) is required before undertaking exterior alterations, construction, or demolition within local historic districts. Both districts showcase a segment of history in DeKalb County, and are worth learning about.
