This week went from an R5 to an R5 Mk II. Might be one of my best hummingbird shots ever taken, and the camera settings are not even dialed in.

The two flower pictures were taken on Coca Cola Rd. Off of 380 near the turn off to Jacksboro Highway, in the middle of May, 2026. Wild Flowers on the side of the road.

The cow landscape scene was taken outside of Oran, Texas, in the same time frame.

Had to add a new tag to my Lightroom today, Road Runner. 14,347 bird shots, and I just took my first Road Runner.

This was taken at the extreme zoom of my Canon RF 100-500, handheld in my yard. It's extremely cropped, but I am starting with a large R5 file.

I have a 1.4 extender I am going to work with to fill the frame more with less crop, next, but it's got to be on a tripod. That sounds easy enough, but it took me 2 weeks to finally have my camera handheld ready when he was in the yard, now a camera on a tripod? This is a Road Runner, if you are not ready with a camera when you see it, it Road Run's away fast trying to get the camera!!!

They say that wildlife photography is 90% waiting. I will figure it out.
