SPRINGFIELD FAMILY FUN DAY

Parking restrictions and road closures:

On Sunday, October 4th, from 11am-3pm, the Springfield Township Family Fun Day will take place at 50 Powell Rd. There will be road closures leading up to and during the event.

Powell Rd will be closed in both directions between Fairview Rd & Alliston Rd on Sunday, Oct 4th. In addition, N Brookside Rd will be closed between Fairview Rd & Library Ln. There will be parking restrictions on streets surrounding the event that will be clearly posted. Please plan accordingly. Stay safe and enjoy.

There will be parking restrictions on Saxer Ave related to the filming of the HBO series "Task." The parking restrictions will begin on Tuesday, September 29th at 6pm, and conclude on Thursday, October 1st at 6pm. The No Parking Zones will be clearly marked with traffic cones and No Parking Signs. 🅿️

Parking restrictions will be in effect on the following roads: Saxer Ave, S. Rolling Rd, Orchard Rd and S. Hillcrest Rd.

Springfield Police Officers will be on location to assist with traffic control and public safety throughout the filming. Please plan accordingly and allow additional travel time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

9-21-26 1216 hrs.
Officers investigated a crash on the 100 block Baltimore Pk. in which a vehicle struck a brick column and
fence. The driver was found intoxicated on nitrous oxide and taken into custody. The vehicle contained
canisters for “huffing.” The driver, 37 yr. old male from Drexel Hill, submitted to a blood test and will be
charged with DUI and other offenses.
9-21-26 1544 hrs.
Officers went to Macy’s at the mall to investigate a theft of clothing by a male subject who fled the area
in a vehicle. The vehicle did not stop for police and went south on I476. At about 2135 hrs. Officers
observed the vehicle driving in Springfield and pursued it a time before stopping. Prospect Park police
assisted and stopped the vehicle near Route 291. A 57 yr. old female from Chester was taken into
custody. She was later turned over to Haverford PD on a warrant. After all this, the retail theft was
found to have been committed by a 30 yr. old male from Chester who will be charged with Retail Theft
and other offenses.
9-22-26 1732 hrs.
A 59 yr. old male from Scranton was charged with Trespassing after being found to have been loitering
on a property on the 900 block Lincoln Av.
9-22-26 1746 hrs.
A 23 yr. old female will be charged with Assault after being involved in a road rage incident over a
parking spot in the lot of the mall. The female pushed and struck another female after an argument
about backing into a space and blocking the trafficway.
9-23-26 1005 hrs.
A 17 yr. old female from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after stealing over $257 worth of
clothing and other items from Target at the mall. She was later turned over to family.
9-24-26 0915 hrs.
Painted graffiti was found on the street on the 700 block Lehann Cir. which occurred sometime after 9-
21.
9-24-26 0925 hrs.
A purse was stolen from a shopping cart while the shopper was at BJ’s Wholesale 1200 block Baltimore
Pk.
9-25-26 2255 hrs.
A 16 yr. old male from Chadds Ford will be charged with Underage Drinking after being found in a
wooded area on Wallingford Rd. intoxicated. He was turned over to family.

Today, we joined police departments from across Delaware County to participate in the 24-Hour Su***de Awareness Walk-A-Thon for Law Enforcement at Sun Valley High School.

We thank the Aston Township Police Relief Association for hosting this important event, which raises awareness about su***de prevention and highlights the importance of mental health and wellness for those who serve and protect our communities.

Together, we can continue to support one another, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and remind our law enforcement community that no one has to face their struggles alone.
