Sinclair Community College is expanding its UAS training programs by teaching drone flight and instruction techniques to staff and area first responders, meeting growing local demand for drone operation skills and workforce development in Dayton and surrounding communities.

You are invited to the Sinclair Fire Academy’s New Fire Academy Training Building Open House!. If you are considering a career in the fire service, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about our nationally recognized program.

Sinclair’s Fire Academy is proud to graduate over 100 students each year, making us the largest fire academy in Ohio. We are also the only college-based academy in the state to hold Pro Board accreditation. Our Professional Firefighter Short-Term Certificate can be completed in one semester and requires only 12 credit hours.

At the open house, attendees can participate in hands-on activities and explore what it means to serve as a firefighter. Our faculty and current students will be available to answer questions and share their experiences.

Sinclair College has received a grant from the GE Aerospace Foundation as part of Lifting Futures, its flagship workforce training program to support the entire aerospace industry.
This investment will support Sinclair's ongoing workforce development efforts in manufacturing and welding.
We are grateful to be part of Lifting Futures - a program working to train 10,000 skilled manufacturing workers by 2030 and close the aerospace industry's skills gap.

Tartan TOPS empowers students with intellectual disabilities to achieve and thrive. This 26-credit, short-term certificate program at Sinclair creates educational and career pathways, offering inclusive classes and internships where participants build skills for greater independence and meaningful careers.

Since launching in 2021, Tartan TOPS has grown from just four students to 117 participants, reflecting Sinclair’s commitment to expanding opportunities for all learners.

Just ask AJ, who shares: “I was hesitant to join college at first because I had a hard time making friends and socializing. I was nervous I wouldn't be a successful college student, but I gained confidence through the Tartan TOPS Program. I have made the Dean's List every semester. I've enjoyed all the fun moments I've had, and I hope to graduate and go for my associate’s degree after my time here.”
