What a beautiful and joyous Sunday at the St Helen Spring Festival hosted by the St Helen School and St Helen Parish! Great food (oh my, the cabbage rolls and corn on the cob 🥬🌽😋), live music, rides, games, raffles, and so much family fun and fellowship with the community! Thanks for hosting Team Rice!

Thanks to RiverScape MetroPark in Downtown Dayton for hosting its Passport to MetroParks event on Friday! We grabbed passports and visited more than a dozen booths with games and activities featuring upcoming summer festivals as well as learning more about the recreation, education, and volunteer programs Five Rivers Metroparks has to offer. The Parks Board excels in its conservation efforts, and we picked up a few native plants for our home garden. The Probate Judge carries a weighty responsibility ensuring the people appointed to the Board carry out these missions for the benefit of all citizens in Montgomery County.

We also met Parker the Penguin, ate tasty food, and listened to live music from MojoFlo! My oldest son Cameron braved holding a spider, but my youngest son Ethan was the true Spider-Man as he climbed to the top of the rock climbing wall! Such a wonderful time full of community engagement and support!

By the end of the night, we walked by the river over to Mikey's Late Night Slice and caught the end of the Dayton Dragons game! 🍕⚾️What a great start to the weekend in the Gem City! Shine on, Dayton, Ohio! 💎💎💎

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Together with Keeton For Judge, Kelly Madzey for Judge, Glennon for Judge, Elect Hope Smalls for Judge, and supporters, we started the day in Kettering, and participated in the Memorial Day 5K hosted by the Dayton Track Club and Key Sports. The pancake breakfast after was a hit, and we discovered my son Cameron is a pancake catching machine! Thanks Chris Cakes Ohio! Then, we returned to Miamisburg, for its annual Miamisburg Memorial Day Parade! Such a wonderful community, and we always look forward to returning!

But let's not forget the day’s true purpose: to honor the fallen, both men and women, who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can live in the greatest country on Earth. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

As we all take time to reflect and remember the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day, I’d like to introduce you to someone important to our family.

My great uncle William Baugh enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 18 during the Korean War. After two years of service to his country during the conflict, William was traveling by night with his company when the enemy threw a gr***de inside his vehicle. He acted quickly to use his body to shield his squad, saving everyone in the vehicle but himself. William was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by President Truman for “his superb courage and valiant spirit of self-sacrifice” upholding the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. We will forever be in awe of his heroism and self-sacrifice for this American Experiment.

Thank you to those who gallantly gave their lives for this country. We are forever in your debt. 🇺🇸

Miamisburg, we couldn’t say no and not return to Spring Fest in the Burg on a beautiful day like today! Ohio’s Star City is where my mother-in-law Jeannie was an elementary school teacher for decades before she retired, and where my husband Michael was raised as a child. And when there’s fabulous entertainment, fun rides, and wonderful people all in one place (not to mention The Hamburger Wagon), we couldn’t resist!
