I attended the Graphic Medicine UnConvention this past weekend. Amazed at the level of talent around the world from doctors, therapists, patients, public health workers,and artists. I am inspired along with some of my VEOLI colleagues to explore comics, animation and zines for getting the word out about end-of-life issues!

Some thoughts from my first all-digital conference.

Virtual Conferencing: IFVP Shows the Way I'm a member of the International Forum of Visual Practitioners, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Plans were to hold a big bash at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley; COVID-19 put a stop to that.

Breakout session in today’s conference: Best Animation Practices. Amazing input from awesome people. Here are my notes.

Very personal moment in today’s session about New Business Models led by Yiely Ho: Where was a time when you felt truly alive, truly authentic? What skills did you draw on? How can you use those to implement the Japanese concept of Ikigai, your meaning, your raison d’être? For me, it was drawing birds after I decided to stop using fossil fuels to chase them.
