Forget the gym. Gardening day hits different. ๐ฑ๐ช
Hauling mulch = leg day. Pulling weeds = arm day. Bending over seedlings for an hour = back day (unfortunately).
Happy National Gardening Exercise Day to all the gardeners who are definitely getting their steps in.

It's that time of year when the garden really starts to show off. Poppies blooming, raised beds filling in, new starts going in the ground. We love seeing what's happening in gardens across California.

Photo description: A wood-chip pathway leads through a curved metal arbor arch toward a wooden gazebo with a shingled roof, set in a demonstration garden on a sunny day. Raised wooden beds line both sides of the path, planted with leafy greens and small starts. In the foreground, half-barrel planters overflow with bright golden California poppies. To the right of the path, a large lavender-purple flowering shrub and a row of lavender border the walkway. A wooden A-frame trellis leans against a chain-link fence on the far right. Mature trees and a clear blue sky fill the background.

From horseshoe pits to a thriving Learning Garden!
What started as a small garden at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds has grown into a year-round hub for gardening education, fresh food production, and community connection. Thanks to the dedication of the UC Master Gardeners of Sutter and Yuba Counties, the Learning Garden recently doubled in sizeโadding new raised beds, a greenhouse, fruit trees, and more space for hands-on workshops.
This inspiring transformation shows whatโs possible when volunteers bring passion, creativity, and perseverance to their communities.
