Compass II Life Services

We are very thankful for our partnership with the Daphne Police Department. Because of them we are able to more effectively engage our youth and keep our communities safe.

Our Community Resource Unit was recognized with an award this morning at the annual The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers-TAASRO conference. They received this honor for their partnership with Compass II Life Services in hosting the annual Battle of the Bay Basketball Game and their consistent dedication to the youth of Daphne.

Mentors of Compass II Life were excited to see our young men and host their annual end of the school year pizza party yesterday evening. During this visit we also took time to complete our normal aftercare checkin procedures to promote behavior/academic accountability and future focus for our young men.

Special recognitions were given to 8 of our boys for going above and beyond the past several weeks and to recognize all their hard work this spring.

Corporal Jamie Huffman recently earned certification as a School Safety Specialist from The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers-TAASRO. She is one of only 35 SROs in the state to earn this distinction. Cpl. Huffman holds many other certifications, including FBI Fi****ms Instructor, ALICE and ALERT instructor, and Homeland Security Threat Assessment. Additionally, she manages two youth mentorship programs and regularly participates with Compass II Life Services.

Compass II Life is proud to graduate another round of young leaders this evening at our Spring 26' graduation hosted at Daphne East Elementary School. These young men have spent the past several weeks learning new personal skills and ways to lead in all aspects of their lives.

The LaGrandeur Youth Initiative Program is a structured leadership and personal development program designed for male and female students in grades 7–12. The program provides a supportive environment where participants are equipped with the tools, guidance, and opportunities necessary to develop academically, socially, and civically.

Through intentional programming, mentorship, service learning, and structured fundraising experiences, participants are encouraged to strengthen their leadership skills, expand their community awareness, and cultivate confidence that will prepare them for success in high school, college, and beyond.

This program culminates in the signature LaGrandeur Finale, a celebratory event recognizing participants’ growth, achievements, and fundraising efforts throughout the program year.

AFTERCARE. Today we had the privilege to visit with our previous graduates of WJ Carroll Intermediate School for our quarterly check in.

Members in attendance received support and encouragement. We are very proud to hear of the continued progress being made throughout their lives and in their school.
