Okay okay… after hearing so many mixed reviews 🤔 I had to try Sucre Cafe for myself.
The live crawfish sacks at the entrance caught me off guard… probably should be kept cooler but anywho 🤷♀️
I went in expecting the worst, salty, dirty, all the things but honestly I was pretty satisfied. The overall flavor is heavy on the crab boil liquid, a little spicy for “medium” but solid and cheap.
I will say they’re not the cleanest and could use more soaking time but we didn’t get many dead ones so that’s a plus.
Garlic butter was good, just a little sweet for me. It’s a 30 minute drive so I wouldn’t come often but if you’re closer, it’s worth trying.

Easily some of the best noodles I’ve had. 🍜 I don’t even think I’ve had this style before. The straight noodles with the sauce? Kind of mind blowing.
And the smoked fish… I had no idea what to expect, but how is it fried so soft and delicate and still packed with flavor?? That alone sold me.
Song’s Dongpo pork was solid, familiar and comforting. The xiaolongbao were good too, with a thicker soup than I expected and a super clean pork flavor.

We randomly picked this spot with zero expectations and ended up having one of the best meals of our Vancouver trip. Highly recommend.
Pro tip: parking was confusing. Park on level 2, go through the double doors into the mall, and it’s on the far right 🙂

Toastique just opened in West Village 🥑✨
The Avo Smash was my favorite, with the Dragon Berry Açaí Bowl coming in as a very close second. Perfect for lunch or a quick grab-and-go when you want something fresh but still filling.
