Turn the page... learn how to create a wonderful little book that can become so many things. The Ancient Coptic Binding lends itself as a sketchbook, journal, album, artist book.... Using simple tools and supplies, learn to prepare your paper, create the cover pieces and sew together a blank book. It’s FUN, EASY, and so very VERSATILE!

2024 will open with some changes at the shop, Terri Thoman will no longer handle the day to day operations, she will be in the studio Dallas Artisan Fine Print Studio,creating and colaborating.
Paper Arts will still offer all of the wonderful papers and inspiration, but it will be Robert who fulfills your every paper desire.

Best Art Supply Store - Paper Arts Owner Terri Thoman has been in the business for more than 40 years, and her shop near Deep Ellum is more than just a place to find paper goods from all over the world. Visitors can see artistic demonstrations (like origami) and participate in workshops at this artisan, nontoxic printmaking...

We know you have been very patient, but long story , short... it took a year to get the insurance company to pay for State declared natural storm damage, then... when we thought we had the best roofers ever... we had to hire a lawyer, still battling that... but THE GOOD NEWS IS...We hope to be starting again in the next week, and will be open soon...
PLEASE, stick with us, we are not closed by choice, we had to remove a lot of inventory from the showroom, and cover everything with over 850 feet of heavy plastic, so it is impossible to get to anything!

Today , Sept. 13th, is our last day open,,, Time to repair our roof!

Since the storm in August 2022, we have been battling our insurance company... NOW it is finally time for our ROOF Repairs to begin.
We have been steadily preparing the showroom, removing the stored papers from atop the cabinets, stowing away all of the Art and Books...
Now we must begin to shut down the shop... so Wednesday, August 13th will be our last day open. Then we begin to wrap and cover all fixtures, shelves, presses, tables....
If you are planning a project, please come in NOW!!!! It will be impossible to retrieve any paper after Wednesday the 13th.
We will keep ypu informed of our progress ....

Art on Main and Blue Dragon Fine Art are very excited to host an In Depth presentation with Terri Thoman, Owner of Paper Arts Dallas on Thursday, June 15th from 6-8pm. Paper Arts
Terri will give an informative presentation on the world of fine art printmaking.

As a Printmaker, trained in the 1970’s, Terri Thoman has witnessed the shifting landscape of technology in this field. The processes she chooses to employ are rooted deep in the history of printmaking, including intaglio, planography, and most of all, the relief print. In her work you can witness the evidence of life, the direct mark of the tools and the human hand.

Terri’s artwork reflects the value she holds for the planet; her observations of atmosphere, earth, and water clearly express this passion. In the studio, she strives for sustainability through non-toxic practices, “ In my daily routine of life, whether gardening or printmaking, I am responsible for creating my existence.”
