It's with a heavy heart that I need to share with y'all some devastating news.
After more than a decade, (10 years and 9 months). Linny and I were blindsided BY TEXT Tuesday, that this past Monday, December 2, 2024, was the LAST ENTERTAINER'S SHOWCASE at The Balcony Club.
Because of the abrupt way we received the news, we were unable to end our decade long Residency with the dignity that it deserves.
We would like THANK EVERYONE that brought their artistry, energy, time and love every Monday. You made The Entertainer’s Showcase the envy of most venues on a Monday night.
Linny, the band and I tried to create an atmosphere of love, artistic expression and inclusion to ALL who wanted to come vibe with us. I think we achieved that goal.
As shocked as we were to get that heartless text, we knew that this was a chance to climb higher.
So, IT'S NOT GOODBYE! It's just farewell to The Balcony Club on Mondays.
We are already working on a bigger and better venue!
From the bottom of our hearts, we will cherish EVERY moment spent with y'all over the years and we can't wait for the next chapter!!!

Saturday was a busy night for Dallas Theater Center.

While many were at the Fashion Institute Gallery for our Centerstage 40 Gala, many were at Bishop Arts Theater Center witnessing the opening night of Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer.

Brierley Resident Acting Company Member, Liz Mikel stars in the one woman show directed by theatre visionary Akin Babatunde, and Assistant Directed by Ptosha Storey. Congratulations to Executive Artistic Director/ Founder Teresa Wash Coleman and everyone at Bishop Arts Theatre Center!
