this song, these lyrics, diane warren’s magic, is the reason i was drawn to the project and agreed to take on the soundtrack. and the fact that you love these songs just as much now as you did almost 30 years ago are a testament to that 🤍

last night felt like stepping into a memory and a brand new moment at the same time.

we captured a little of the in between for you… the quiet before, the chaos backstage, those last few breaths before walking out and hearing you. it’s such a strange, beautiful shift from behind the curtain to standing in front of all that love.

seeing so many of your faces in the crowd meant more than i can really put into words. some of you i’ve grown up with in a way… some of you are just finding me now… and somehow it all meets in the same room.

to my famile who came out, thank you for holding that space with me. i felt you. i always do.

this tour is about honoring where it all began, but nights like this remind me it’s just as much about where we are right now, together.

i’m bringing you along for as much of it as i can.

it’s taken me a long time to add ‘probably wouldn’t be this way’ back in my setlist (and to make it through without crying 🤣)… but i did it!!

13 years ago today, spitfire found its way out of my heart and into the world.

“what have i done” is one of my favorite tracks on the record. honestly, it’s one of my favorite songs, ever! its one that’s always pulled at my heart strings and almost always brings tears to my eyes.

this album changed everything for me as a songwriter, as a truth teller… no matter how painful or revealing. a lot of people weren’t ready for this level of truth from me, but this album found its way to those who were. i’m forever grateful that art, yet again, gave me a place to bare my soul, work through a lot of pain and come out on the other side… transformed.

a little ryman magic ✨ such an honor to meet you all and join you on one of the most iconic stages!
