Well, I'm sitting here, deeply touched.

I do voiceover, and a lot of what I do is for podcasts.

This gentleman reached out and asked me to do his intro and outro. After the order was complete, he sent me a link to his show - his first ever show. His show is about burn victims.

I rarely go and listen when someone sends me the link, but I was curious, so I listened, and it f**king broke my heart.

I know this is a weird ask, but I would LOVE it f all of you would listen and share this man's podcast link! (I get nothing for this. I just want to surprise him and make him feel some love.)

In a su***de attempt, he set his car on fire and was burned severely on 50% of his body. And he went through it ALL and now he wants to give people like him some hope.

Look at those headlines. “Network under govt control.” “The View censored.” “Kimmel fired.” “Threatens licenses.” Whether you love or hate any of those shows or personalities, this is a five-alarm fire for anyone who cares about living in a country where the state doesn’t decide what you’re allowed to watch, hear, or joke about.

This is not Left vs. Right. It’s Power vs. Principle. GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEADS!

Here’s why threats to yank “network licenses” over coverage are a red line:

It’s retaliation, not critique. Politicians can argue, rebut, and even ridicule coverage. That’s speech. But threatening to use the machinery of the state - licenses, regulators, investigations, to punish unfavorable content is coercion. That chills everyone, not just the target.

It flips the First Amendment upside down. The press, and yes, late-night comedy and daytime talk shows sit under that tent—exists to scrutinize power, not to flatter it. The minute a government can say “nice show you’ve got there; shame if something happened to your license,” you no longer have a free press. You have a domesticated one.

It trains the public to accept censorship as “order.” Authoritarians never start by banning all speech. They start by convincing you that disagreeable speech is dangerous, and that the state is just “protecting” you. Today it’s their comedian. Tomorrow it’s your pastor, your podcaster, your favorite Substack, or you.

“Our side would never!” Yes, they would. Every side uses the tools you normalize. If you’re cool with license threats now, imagine a future administration using the exact same lever against your side’s outlets, creators, and communities. If that thought terrifies you, good, that’s the point.

Turning critics into cautionary tales is the whole strategy. Fire one high-profile host, throttle one panel show, and every producer, writer, and affiliate gets the message. You don’t need explicit bans when fear does the job.

This is bigger than a network, bigger than one host, bigger than one president. It’s a test of whether we still believe the remedy for “bad” speech is more speech - not state punishment.
