IMPROV FOR ANXIETY is a 7-week course designed to help you laugh, connect, and build tools for managing anxiety in a supportive group setting. Led by a therapist + improv instructor, you’ll explore anxiety triggers, practice new coping strategies, and discover the joy of improv comedy in a safe, low-stakes space. Good for brand new and experienced performers!

Learn the art and craft of stand up comedy in this seven-week course at Stomping Ground Comedy. Over the weeks, you’ll develop a five-minute stand up set that you’ll perform in a showcase for family and friends. Along the way, you’ll learn how to find your comedic voice, refine your material, and bring your jokes to life on stage, whether you're a first-time perfromer or a seasoned storyteller.

💜 Today is World Alzheimer's Day!

For the millions of families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia, today is a reminder: you are not alone, and how we connect matters.

🧠 That's why Stomping Ground Comedy offers Improv for Caregivers, pay-what-you-can workshops (funded by AWARE North Texas) where professional and family caregivers can release stress, build community, and practice new ways of connecting with the people they love. No acting experience needed. Just an open mind and a willingness to play.

Our co-founder Andrea K. Baum, M.Ed., LPC, recently co-authored a peer-reviewed study in Academic Psychiatry, the first of its kind to show how improv can teach dementia-care communication skills. What we practice in our workshops is grounded in real science (neat!).
