Notable Native Texans: Aaron Spelling, born in Dallas on April 22, 1923. Spelling was the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, who lived in Dallas' old Jewish neighborhood south of downtown on Bryan Street.

After serving in the Army Air Force for World War 2, Spelling moved to Los Angeles and began television writing scripts. He become one of the most prolific producers in history, responsible for more than 500 episodes and 200 movies of the week. Charlie’s Angels, The Love Boat, Dynasty, Starsky & Hutch, and Beverly Hills, 90210. He called them “comfort television."

Spelling died on June 23, 2006, at age 83. Pictured below with the cast of Charlie's Angels, 2nd photo Dynasty.
