A very special little chick 🐣
Meet our newest whooping crane chick at the Whooping Crane Center of Texas! Hatched June 3, this little one came to us as an egg from a breeding pair at the International Crane Foundation and was placed with foster parents Simone and Catchfly. They wasted no time stepping into their roles and have been doing a great job raising their chick.
And this chick has a big future ahead. As part of our conservation efforts, our goal is to raise whooping cranes here in Dallas for release into the wild. This little one is expected to join Louisiana’s wild whooping crane population this fall. Stay tuned as this fluffball grows and gets ready for their big journey to the wild!
