On National Letter Writing Day, we're reminded that a well-written letter can open doors for your booster club, whether you're asking a local business to sponsor your team, thanking a volunteer, or requesting permission for an event. Not sure where to start? Our blog breaks down the 9 letter types every booster club should have on hand.

National Sport Sampling Day encourages kids to try a sport or activity they haven't tried before. Sampling something new can build confidence, teach new skills, and help kids discover an interest they never knew they had.
It's a good moment for parents too. A new activity often means a new group of parents cheering from the sidelines, and a chance to get involved: join an existing booster club, help start one if the program doesn't have one yet, or simply meet other parents in the stands. Supporting a new activity together is a great way to build community, both for your kid and for you.

Golf tournament fundraisers aren't just for golf teams. PTAs, athletic boosters, and school foundations of all kinds use them as a signature spring event. Booking a course and lining up sponsors takes months, so starting now means less scrambling later. And when tournament day arrives, event insurance covers your group if someone is injured or their property is damaged.

Every PTA, PTO, and booster club runs on volunteers, and few carry more responsibility than the treasurer. This role tracks every dollar coming in and going out, builds the annual budget, and keeps the group's tax and bank paperwork in order. It's detailed, often thankless work that keeps the whole organization running. If you know a treasurer, thank them. If you're new to the role, here's what the job really involves.

New volunteers, new school year, clean slate. Before the first deposit comes in, put strong financial controls in place: have someone without check-signing authority review monthly bank statements, require dual signatures on checks over a set amount, and schedule an annual financial review by a committee or a qualified accountant. These habits protect your group and are often required to qualify for embezzlement coverage.

Fall sports season means booster clubs are pulling out popcorn machines, ice chests, and concession equipment for the first home games. If that equipment is stolen or damaged, business personal property coverage steps in so your club isn't paying out of pocket to replace these items mid-season.

Most PTAs, PTOs, and booster clubs are nonprofits, run entirely by volunteers with no salary and little recognition beyond a thank-you email. National Nonprofit Day is a good reminder that the people running these groups are doing real, unpaid work for their school community. Make sure they're protected while they do it.

Meet the Teacher events and back-to-school nights pack the gym or cafeteria with families in just one evening. If your PTA, PTO, or booster club is hosting, event insurance covers injuries and property damage that can happen even at these low-key school events. You can get coverage online in just minutes.

Football, band, robotics, debate. When a school's budget doesn't stretch far enough to cover equipment, travel, or uniforms, a booster club steps in. These parent-run groups raise funds and rally support for a program, and at smaller schools, one booster club often supports multiple athletic teams at once. Our guide covers how to start a booster club, including building a board, filing for nonprofit status, and securing the right insurance.

Back-to-school supply drives are a great way for PTAs to support families and teachers, but donated supplies pile up fast in a storage closet or classroom. Business personal property coverage protects those donated items and other group-owned property from theft, vandalism, fire, and damage while they're waiting to be handed out.
