I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to support my parents as they get older… not just being there for them, but actively helping them stay sharp, strong, and independent for as long as possible so they spend less on hospital bills and more in living longer, and happier.

So I’m starting a new series: “Aging Powerfully: The Aging Parents Protocol.”

I’ll be documenting exactly how i support my parents (from what I have them eat, to brain health routines, workouts, movements, supplements, biohacks for longevity), and even the role of connection and joy in protecting their minds from Alzheimer’s.

About ... I work with major companies delivering my sleep optimization and burnout workshops. One thing I always notice about employees?

How exhausted everyone is, not only physically but mentally and emotionally!

Most team members are running on empty, wearing their lack of sleep and how tired they are like a badge of honor because corporate culture (and society) has glamorized the grind over our well-being.

We often think that grinding longer hours equals greater success.

But neuroscience shows the opposite: when the brain is rested, it's more creative, resilient, and productive!

It's very eye-opening to have these candid conversations with the teams and their leadership. 3 ways I reply when I’m offered a drink... without making it weird! 😌🙌🏽 It’s Alcohol Responsibility Month, and this is your reminder that responsibility starts here, with the choices you make in everyday moments.

Whether you’re volunteering to be the designated driver, drinking mindfully, or simply not feeling it that day, every choice matters.

I could feel the burnout creeping in, and it almost broke me...

Honestly? I think in terms of work, I bit off more than I could chew, and it truly scared me. From the outside, everything looked “successful.”

But internally? SUCH A DIFFERENT STORY!

I couldn’t focus. My energy was unpredictable. My memory felt... I don't know, off??? And I started disconnecting from the work I used to love + just a feeling of dread I couldn't pinpoint.

It took me a minute, but as a brain health pro… I later realized what was happening.

🧠 My brain was in chronic stress mode, and when burnout hits, our brain literally changes.

So I became my own 'coaching client,' shifted my approach, and started treating burnout like a brain issue, and WOW... EVERYTHING CHANGED!

Within weeks, I saw how:

- My focus came back

- My energy stabilized

- My creativity returned

Not because I worked less… But because my brain started working for me again.

I could literally cry just remembering the relief!

I felt so inspired and hopeful by my own experience that I knew that, even though it was such a vulnerable and personal topic, I needed to share about this more openly with the hopes of helping others who might be in a similar situation.

And I feel that, on a professional level, this is the conversation more companies need to be having.

Not just “how do we reduce burnout?”

But how do we support the brains of our leaders and team members so burnout doesn’t happen in the first place?
