SUPPORT FOR A SERIOUS BLOGGER
Melissa Austin-Weeks is a blogger extraordinaire. Here's how Melissa describes how she began working with JBH Communications: "After a few months of disastrous results with [a Fort Worth agency], I recalled I'd seen Brad's name on a friend's post. I fired that agency, called Brad from their parking lot, had a meeting set up with him that week, and a few weeks later Home with a Twist was a go!"

EXHAUSTING BUT SATISFYING WORK IN OTHER LANGUAGES
The Texas Baptist Heritage Center is one of my favorite clients. Foreign-language websites that I build for them are exhausting but satisfying! In addition to their original English site, JBH has now produced sites in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, and Swahili and is currently putting together a site in Urdu.
The one pictured below is in Hindi. https://www.baptistsiddhanth.org/

GREAT COLLABORATION
There's hardly anything I enjoy more than collaborating with other professionals. The team at TWI-PR have engaged me at JBH Communications on several projects now, and it has been a blast to work with them. What makes it especially satisfying, though, is to learn how happy the end client is with our product. I have heard this over and over from the folks at https://www.vulcansteel.com

One of the things I love doing for clients (and for myself) is ILLUSTRATING the ideas that we want to convey. Here is an illustration I did for a personal blog post.

I had the privilege of launching a new website today for my friends Jana & David Showalter, missionaries in northern Italy. David is a good photographer, so it was easy to convey the beauty of the place where they serve! CLICK THE PICTURE BELOW to check it out.

I just launched this new website (click picture below to see the site) for my great clients at The Dragonfly Inn Canton. Working with Jeana Dickerson (Inn Manager) on the site has been a great experience. You'll see her creativity shining through in the photographs she had me take earlier this week. It really is a warm, inviting place to stay in Canton. It's especially convenient for anyone wanting to enjoy First Monday Trade Days, as the Trade Days entrance is just 3-4 minutes walk from the Inn's front door!

For my illustration of this week's blog post, Scott Schwefel allowed me to be silly. The post argues that "...self-awareness is the single most important capability for a leader to develop."
Discover Yourself – Self-aware leadership Thinking of the most important skills for a leader to have, most people will suggest qualities such as vision, charisma, determination, or discipline. But there's one quality which rarely gets acknowledged in discussions about leadership but that is absolutely crucial, and that is self-awareness.

Each week, I get to devise a graphic and tweak the styling for Scott Schwefel's newest blog post. This one, which I just published, is definitely worth reading!
Discover Yourself – Effective Listening Today we're going to discuss an approach called effective listening, also known as active listening. We’ll also share some practical tips to improve active listening skills.

As business owners, we want potential and current clients to talk with us one way or another. Traditionally we'd invite prospective customers to contact us via snail mail, an email address, phone number, and maybe a fill-in contact form. You may have your preferred contact method. But what do potential customers want? Your Website Visitors May Prefer This... Increasingly, website visitors expect to see a chat utility. [ 425 more words ]
One very useful way to keep your website visitors A chat utility on your website makes it easier for website visitors to contact you, and encourages them to stay on the site while they do so!

I find it especially satisfying to work on a website project that blends the best skills of several professionals. We all end up looking smarter and more talented! My longtime website client, Linda Mastaglio, engaged our colleague Newell Crosse to redesign www.twi-pr.com. It had been many years since I built an earlier version in WordPress, and the site was overdue for a makeover. [ 337 more words ]
