It's World Mental Health Day and Dr. Carol Tamminga has spent her career researching Schizophrenia and related disorders. Her lab researches risk factors, characterizations of the disease, and treatment development.

Dr. Bradley Lega is the co-director for UTSW's comprehensive epilepsy program through the O'Donnell Brain Institute. His researcher focuses on identifying the region of the brain where electrode implants can be applied in hopes of curing seizures.

Can you help us identify this woman from 2006? We believe she was a part of the administrative staff in one of the many departments across campus but we don't know. If you know her please drop a comment below.

Even though it's we are sharing a picture of the old library stacks to remind everyone that tomorrow the UTSW Library is hosting an open house. Come see the awesome new furniture and the new doors. We will be there from 9am-3pm in the Florence Building.

At resident graduations, like this one from the 2008 OB/GYN reception, the atmosphere is fun and light. These students worked hard in their residencies to move on to the next step in their careers.

Shannan Tujios, M.D. completed a clinical fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at UTSW and returned to join the faculty in 2011 as a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in the Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases.

Carlos Girod, M.D. joined UTSW in 1997 and is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is also the Associate Vice President for Parkland Health Affairs at UT Southwestern and holds the Ron Anderson, M.D. Professorship in Clinical Care and Education at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
