South African NGO has purchased the world’s largest captive rhino breeding operation. It now plans to rewild the animals across the continent! 🦏

African Parks stepped in after an online auction of breeder John Hume’s 2,000 rhinos failed to receive any bids.

Over the next 10 years, the conservation organisation intends to relocate the animals to protected areas across the continent to help secure the species’ future.

After a tragic incident where a young child died following a bite from a rattlesnake near Colorado Springs recently, we wanted to share this helpful info ⬇️

What to do if bitten by a rattlesnake:
✅ Remain calm
✅ Call 911
✅ Immobilize the bitten extremity
✅ Keep the bite location even with the heart
✅ Move slowly and deliberately when traveling

With the bite area:
✅ Cleanse and disinfect
✅ Wrap a wide elastic bandage
✅ Apply direct pressure
✅ Remove all jewelry and tight-fitting clothing

What NOT to do if bitten by a rattlesnake. Do not:
❌ assume that a bite is not serious
❌ leave a victim alone in order to get help
❌ try to suck the venom out
❌ apply a narrow, constrictive tourniquet.
❌ engage in strenuous physical activity
❌ try to kill or capture the offending snake
