3. 💥 Dak ➡️ CeeDee explosives — Dallas needs its QB1-WR1 connection creating chunk plays.
Win these three areas, and Dallas puts itself in position to take this game. 👀
KEEP HIM AT SAFETY. ⭐
Caleb Down’s versatility gives Dallas options, but I don’t want the Cowboys getting too cute with it.
His impact at safety could become incredibly valuable to Christian Parker’s defense. Sometimes versatility isn’t about playing everywhere — it’s about having the tools to dominate where you’re needed most.
I break down why I think Dallas should leave him back there. 👀
🚨 THE DOMINO MOVE.
Adding Joey Porter Jr. isn’t just about upgrading one position.
This potentially allows Dallas to reshuffle the entire secondary, put players into more natural roles and give Christian Parker another legitimate chess piece.
That’s how one acquisition can raise the floor of an entire defense.
Dallas just became a lot more interesting. 👀⭐

COWBOYS-RAVENS FILM REVIEW 🎥
After watching the film, this game frustrated me even MORE, especially offensively.
Dallas was DOMINATING Baltimore in the interior run game. The OL was creating movement, combo blocks were reaching the second level, and the TEs/WRs were contributing. That’s why Javonte Williams was consistently finding success.
This is where my issue with Brian Schottenheimer begins: SELF-AWARENESS.
When you’ve found something that works, KEEP DOING IT.
Watching Dallas physically run itself down to the 1-yard line, only to get cute and go the finesse/schematic route, was frustrating. Sometimes what gets you TO the goal line can get you THROUGH the goal line.
Javonte had a good game, but there was still some meat left on the bone. His vision left additional yardage out there.
Overall, the OL played well. Pass protection held up, especially early. T.J. Bass and Terence Steele’s issues became more noticeable once Dallas fell behind and became pass-heavy.
DEFENSIVELY, the DTs were my MVPs.
Their intensity was completely different from previous weeks. Violent hands, explosive get-offs, and they refused to be moved. Baltimore struggled attacking the A-gaps and eventually shifted toward the B/C-gaps.
That’s where the EDGE/LB issues showed up. Derrick Henry found more success outside, and Dallas’ pass rush also struggled to consistently affect Lamar Jackson.
I’m also watching the roof of this defense. Marquise Bell carrying vertical speed in zone-match situations is something I expect teams to test.
Barham impressed me downhill, but Baltimore’s crossers and mesh concepts showed how teams can test these LBs horizontally.
Overall, that’s what makes this loss hurt.
The DTs answered the bell. The OL created movement. The run game WORKED.
Dallas found its advantage and still moved away from it.
Sometimes football really is this simple:
If they can’t stop it, KEEP DOING IT.
