TEXAS SBOE TO VOTE NEXT WEEK ON NEW SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS

The State Board of Education will take up the third and final reading of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for social studies, with a statutory deadline of July 2025 under SB24.

The proposed standards emphasize American and Texas history, Western Civilization, and foundational principles. Democrats on the board have pushed for significant amendments.
