Constantly asking your spouse, "What do you need from me right now?" can completely shift the dynamic of your marriage. Checking in when you notice them withdrawing creates a space to share real feelings even if the answer is just a playful request to finally wash the dishes. When you genuinely ask what they need, it proves you are ready to step up and help without question.
What is one daily check-in question that keeps you and your spouse connected?

Your marriage needs God.
Stop collecting evidence for the story you created in your head. When you are in a good place with your spouse, a forgotten task is just an honest mistake. But when resentment creeps in, that same forgotten task suddenly becomes "proof" that they only care about themselves. This confirmation bias can trap couples in fake narratives, and playing that story long enough builds a false case that can ultimately lead to divorce.

It's easy to build resentment when our partners miss the mark on daily expectations, like the kids' morning or bedtime routines. But what if we stopped assuming the worst and took their actions at face value? Sometimes, a missed task isn't malicious, selfish sabotage itโs just a genuine mistake or a forgotten calendar check.
Making this simple mindset shift can be the exact thing that steers a relationship away from resentment.
Have you ever had to reframe your partner's actions to save your peace? Letโs talk about it in the comments!
You asked for it... so why are you complaining about it?
Gratitude turns a burden into a blessing. Don't lose sight of how far God has brought you just because the blessing requires work.
