We've Glamorized Leadership. Jesus Redefined It.
Too often, leadership is portrayed as power, prestige, and position.
We celebrate the spotlight. We admire the stage. We applaud titles, influence, and recognition.
In Matthew 20, the mother of James and John approached Jesus with a request: that her sons be given places of honor, one at His right hand and one at His left. Like many of us, she viewed greatness through the lens of status and position.
Jesus' response changed everything:
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave." (Matthew 20:26-27)
Then He pointed to His own example:
"The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28)
True leadership doesn't seek the spotlight.

What a powerful DIVE-In Sunday at Deeper Church!
Today, PD Sue shared “When God Gives Insight” from 1 Corinthians 12:8, teaching about the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge.
Knowledge helps the body see what matters. Wisdom helps the body respond faithfully to what has been revealed.
We were reminded that wisdom is not merely intelligence, knowledge is not omniscience, and every spiritual insight must remain submitted to Scripture, governed by love, carried with humility, and used for the common good.
The Holy Spirit may give a gift through one person, but He gives it for the benefit of others. We are not called to become spiritual celebrities—we are called to become a healthy, functioning body in which every person, every generation, and every gift matters.
Your gift was not given merely to be identified. It was given to be invested.
DIVE in. Make yourself available. Let God use what He has placed within you to help others follow Jesus.

We shine together.
Sunday, Pastor Rohan reminded us that spiritual gifts were never meant to function in isolation.
Leadership gives direction. Administration helps steer the course. Helps comes alongside and supplies what is needed. Different gifts. Different functions. One body. One mission.
And biblical leadership isn’t about status, titles, or being out front. Jesus showed us that leadership is service. It means getting low, getting our hands dirty, and faithfully stewarding what God has placed in our care.
The same is true of every gift God gives. They aren’t given so that one person can shine—they are given for the common good, so that the whole Body is strengthened.
We need each other.
When each of us brings what God has placed within us, “nobody is trying to get the shine, but the Lord gets all the glory.”
That’s how we shine—together.

And if you’ve ever felt unqualified or wondered, “What could I possibly offer?”—be encouraged. You don’t have to be perfect to be used by God.
God has gifted you. Now use your gift! 🙌

“Do you possess your possessions—or are your possessions possessing you?”
Guest speaker Matt Johnston continued our ROOTED series with a powerful message on the gift of giving. God has entrusted us with resources not simply to hold, but to release for the good of others.
The challenge was clear:
* Tithe—don’t tip.
* Gain so you can give.
* Look for opportunities to do “more good.”
* Give so generously that it seems hilarious—joyful, surprising, and wonderfully extravagant!
Whether it is providing groceries, meeting a practical need, sharing your time, or giving from your abundance, every one of us has something to offer. What might God do through us if we became a church filled with hilarious givers?

We have to take the TOLERANCE of LOVE into the FOOLISHNESS of HATE‼️
So many of the things that divide us are small compared to what unites us: JESUS. When we remember what Christ did for us, we’re reminded that love isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we’re called to SHOW. In a world filled with division and hate, let’s choose LOVE. ❤️
What would happen if we stopped focusing on what separates us and started focusing on what Jesus has called us to?
