Black belt debut š„
First match at black belt last Friday at F2W 301 in Dallasāhappy with the outcome by way of decision. At this level, everyone is elite, so patience and precision are everything. Rushing only gives opportunities to someone with sharp defensive reactions. Stay disciplined and trust the process.
Just the first step at black belt. On to the next.

Black Belt.
17 years and well over 10,000 hours led me to this moment. To say Iām grateful doesnāt even begin to cover it. Iām beyond thankful for every person who played a role in getting me here ā far too many to fit into one post.
First, I have to thank Curtis Hembroff for giving me the opportunity to truly chase my dreams. Without him and the chances heās opened up for me, I honestly donāt know where my life would be today.
Next is my family ā my mom and stepfather, and my dad and stepmother. Your unwavering support through every high and low has meant everything to me. Youāve seen every part of this journey, and Iām forever grateful for that.
This belt isnāt just the result of my time in Austin ā itās also built on what was given to me back in Houston. Everyone at Ground Dwellers Jiu-Jitsu and McCuskerās MMA played a huge role in my development, and I carry that with me.
Itās surreal to hold a black belt in the 10th Planet system under Curtis and Eddie. Itās truly an honor.
Anyone who trains knows this isnāt the end ā itās just the beginning. Everything carries more meaning now, and Iām ready for this next chapter.

2025 IBJJF NOGI WORLDS
Fun run that ended with me going 1-1. First match was lighting quick. Ending in a 23 second heel hook after scoring. My second match I fell short to the man the champ. These experiences are priceless and Iām so glad to be here.
Iām so thankful for everything that has happened in the last year and the people Iām surrounded by.
So many people to thank for the process along the way. Shout out to for helping with my weight cut/dieting, for being the best strength and conditioning group in the Austin/cedar park area, and last for being my biggest supporter and setting me up for success.
This is just a stepping stone along the way to greatness. The best is yet too come!

Connecting different passing styles is key to having more success against higher level opponents. What makes this idea really strong is when you can read your opponents movements as they happen and connect to the next best thing. Here you see the connection between toreando and stack passing and then what you can do based on your opponentās reactions, something we saw at the recent Polaris event done very well.
