It was an honor to attend the 2025 Fall Commencement ceremonies at Western Carolina University as a member of the Board of Trustees. Congrats to all of the graduates and best wishes for the future!

Thank you to Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines and all members of the City Council for approving a resolution that expresses the need to expand the housing supply. This will help with economic development, price stability, and quality-of-life. All sectors of real estate developement — including industrial and commercial — will benefit from a more vibrant housing supply.

Thank you to Kevin Baker, the Executive Director of Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), for being the keynote speaker at our TREBIC Political Leaders Luncheon. He gave us an excellent presentation on the economic development that is underway at PTI.

This includes major industrial projects such as FedEx, Textron, AAR Corp. (formerly HAECO), HondaJet, Boom Supersonic, JetZero, and more. These projects represent tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in investments.

In addition to major industrial projects, PTI continues to be a thriving commercial aviation hub, increasing quality-of-life and making our region more favorable for economic development.

The work that Kevin Baker and his team are doing is having a transformative impact on our region. The creation of jobs, major capital investments, and overall synergy are enhancing our economic climate in the Triad and beyond.

This work not only benefits the aviation industrial sector, but also the building industry, and all sectors of the economy.

Charlie Kirk was a fellow American, a husband, and a father. It is shocking that someone would take his life in such a senseless, cowardly act. Whether you agreed with him or not, this kind of violence must be condemned. I pray for his family and I pray for the soul of our nation.
