So proud of our interior design students Jocelyn and Gizelle! Worked on a cultural mural Downtown Waynesville. The Waynesville Art Council commissioned Raliegh/Durham artist Max Dowdle to create the designs. Ribbon cutting ceremony with the council and the Mayor of Waynesville.

Interior Design highlight of the Fall 2025 semester...IDES 352 course Rosenwald school historic rehabilitation design. Collaborative design charette with Auburn University Architecture & Construction students and faculty and WCU Interior Design Juniors. Traveling to Alabama to visit historic rural black community origin sites of the Tankersley Rosenwald school, the Montgomery Legacy Sites and Tuskegee University allowed students to connect in person to their NC research of over 813 Rosenwald schools. This is how applied intentional learning begins. Students can read a book, listen to lectures and research online, but this trip many of them stated allowed them to learn.
