πŸš’ Had a Lift-Needed a Lower πŸš’

Last Friday, May 29, Crestview Fire Department responded to a call for an individual who found themselves having a less-than-ideal day after becoming stranded in a bucket high above the ground.

Fortunately, our crew wasn't afraid of heights. Truck 3 was dispatched to the scene, and firefighters quickly went to work, safely bringing the individual back to earthβ€”literally.

While most people enjoy seeing Crestview from a higher perspective, spending an unexpected amount of time stuck in a bucket wasn't exactly part of the plan. Thanks to the training and teamwork of our firefighters, the rescue was completed safely and without injury.

A great job by Truck 3 and all responding personnel for helping turn a stressful situation into a safe ending.

At the Crestview Fire Department, our mission is to protect life and propertyβ€”and sometimes that means our smallest residents need help too! πŸ±πŸš’

Every call matters because every life matters. We're proud to be there when our citizens need us most, whether it's a family facing an emergency or curious kittens that have found themselves in a tough spot.

Thank you to our community for your continued support and trust. Together, we make Crestview a safer place for everyoneβ€”two-legged and four-legged alike.

Last week members from Crestview Fire Department and North Okaloosa Fire District completed their Vehicle and Machine Rescue Operations class. This is a 40 hour training class that teaches students vehicle extrication and stabilization techniques. This class is part of the CFD's growing special operations capabilities. Great job to all who participated and endured the hot days to get it done!

On May 6, Truck 3 had the opportunity to visit Destiny Worship Center - Crestview during their paint party celebration! We had a blast, and it looked like everyone else did too. Thank you so much for the invite. We truly enjoyed being part of the fun!

Due to a serious multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 62, all East bound interstate traffic is being rerouted to State Highway 85 (Ferdon Boulevard) and North to U.S. Highway 90 (James Lee Blvd) to continue East.

There will be a major influx of vehicle and semi traffic during this temporary closure for the detour. Major delays should be expected during the interstate closure.

If possible, avoid this area and use alternative routes.
