About me: I began piano lessons at the age of 5, starting with the Suzuki method style of musical immersion. I use a combination of both methods when teaching my students! I am originally from Akron, Ohio, graduated from Ohio University in 2004 with a B.S. I taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade for 8 years, then recently decided to take a break from the classroom in order to focus on raising my two b

As I sit here night after night preparing recital songs for each individual student based on their current abilities, I can’t help but feel so fortunate that I’ve had a part in helping them learn to play this magnificent instrument.
When you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like a job! 💞🎹💞 Can’t wait for everyone to show off their skills at the recital!

For my adult students.. an interesting video on memorization! A piece of music is not just a ton of black dots you have to play in the right order! There’s meaning.. and sequences.. and patterns!! What a beautiful thing, music is 🤩
