On October 1st, during the Crestview Chamber breakfast, Walmart made a significant impact by donating generously to local community services. Their benevolence was shown through two substantial donations that will greatly benefit Crestview.

Walmart displayed its commitment to community safety and support by donating $3,000 to the Crestview Police Foundation. This contribution will be instrumental in enhancing local programs such as "Shop with a Cop," which builds positive relationships between police officers and the community's youth by providing children with an opportunity to shop with local officers during the holiday season. The donation will also support other vital community initiatives that aim to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the public.

In addition to supporting law enforcement, Walmart extended its generosity to Crestview Animal Services with a donation of $2,000. This gift will assist in the care and well-being of local animals, ensuring they receive the necessary attention and resources. The funds will help improve the quality of life for animals in the community, promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Since June 15, 2026, Crestview Police Department and the Criminal Investigations Division has been investigating the case of MISSING JUVENILE RUNAWAY, Jacob Carlisle Cook.

Thus far, our investigation has led us to believe that COOK is still in the Florida panhandle and is with subjects known to him.

Due to multiple posts regarding this case on third-party social media pages, often accompanied by inaccurate images of COOK, our Criminal Investigations Division felt it important to update the community and public.

In today's world, unfortunately, there are individuals who prey on the good citizens of our town. To help keep your belongings and your vehicle safe, please consider the following tips:

Secure Your Vehicle
Lock Your Car Doors: Always ensure that your car doors are locked when you leave your vehicle, even if it's just for a short period.

Roll Up Your Windows: Make sure all windows are completely closed to prevent easy access to the interior.

Remove Valuables: Do not leave any valuable items in plain sight inside your car. It's best to take them with you or hide them from view.

Take Your Keys: Never leave your keys or key fob in the vehicle. This can make it a tempting target for theft.

Additional Safety Measures
Fi***rm Safety: If you own fi****ms, please do not leave them in your vehicle. Remember, you are responsible for safely storing your fi****ms. This not only prevents theft but also helps avoid potential civil litigation if someone gets hurt with a stolen fi***rm.
