Cresskill Fire Department

Today, the Cresskill Fire Department proudly placed into service our new Scott Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), providing our firefighters with the latest technology and enhanced respiratory protection while responding to fires and other hazardous emergencies.

This critical equipment was made possible through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program. The grant significantly reduced the financial burden on our community, allowing the Borough to replace aging equipment while realizing substantial savings for the taxpayers of Cresskill. By securing federal funding, the Department was able to modernize one of its most essential pieces of firefighter safety equipment without placing the full cost on local taxpayers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mayor John Morgan, the Cresskill Borough Council, and the Borough Administration for their continued support of the Fire Department. Their commitment to public safety and willingness to pursue funding opportunities make projects like this possible and ensure that our firefighters have the equipment they need to safely serve our residents.

The safety of our firefighters directly impacts the safety of our community. These new SCBA units will enhance our ability to protect lives and property while ensuring our members have reliable, state-of-the-art respiratory protection when operating in immediately dangerous to life and health environments.

We are grateful for the partnership between our local leaders and the federal government that made this important investment possible.
