Here’s my most recent Marin Voice opinion piece, without a paywall, about the need for local elected leaders to think big and get more done.

I guess today, July 4, is as good a day as any to announce that I will be running for re-election to the Corte Madera Town Council. Together, we’ve got some great projects going, but there’s so much more to do: more investment in outdoor recreation and commmunity infrastructure; we’re going to need multiple new fire stations sooner rather than later; and we need strong leadership that will protect Corte Madera open spaces and public rights of ways.
Please let me know if I can count on your support, and I’ll add you to my list of endorsers. Thank you very much!
(This plaque from last year is a favorite. My town means so much to me!)

Hello Corte Maderans! Don’t forget there’s FREE SWIMMING for you at Redwood High School all summer long. Free swim lessons too. Thanks to CM town staff for helping to make our public facilities public.
(This takes not just a village, but a virtual army. I work for my community and demanded community access to Redwood’s pool. We did it. I’m telling you this in part because I’m running for reelection, and hope I will have your vote!)
Most of all, Happy swimming! https://www.somaaquatics.com/corte-madera-1

This actually exists in the Netherlands. Designed by a company called Delf. We could be innovative like this here in Marin, right?

Larkspur’s new community Library opened today, and it is a stunner. An amazing collaboration of local leaders, including electeds, city staff, nonprofits, and residents came together to plan, fund, build, and now get it up and running. What a beautiful accomplishment for our community. Corte Madera is very proud of our sister city, and thanks to all for this gorgeous new library.

As our council debates whether to enact a ban on the sale of to***co products, we learn that Tamalpais High School district students use to***co at more than double the rate of the average California high school student. This includes smoking, va**ng and ni****ne pouches.
It’s been seven years since we hosted a Lions Club Crab feed and I think people were glad to be back. We had a full house, some excellent crab, and a great night for community and fundraising for local charities. Thanks to the Corte Madera Football Club for serving, and to all of the local businesses that supported the raffle. Huge thanks all around!!!

Don’t miss the legendary Corte Madera Lions Club’s Crab Feast on Saturday, March 15 at the CM Community Center.
All you can eat North Coast Crab, Bob R’s Caesar Salad, Scoma Pasta, Cafe Verde’s Tira Misu and other desserts, good wines, a full cash bar, and a very fun raffle thanks to BurmaTown, Kito’s, Zinz, Zonda, Peterson’s, and many, many more. We’ll have movie and theatre tickets to give away, and who knows what else!!!
Best of all, this well-loved community event raises funds which are then donated to local charities, including youth sports scholarships, homeless services, scouts, etc.
And maybe you even might want to look into joining the Corte Madera Lions? It’s a social club that has fun hosting event to raise funds and do good in other ways too. All are welcome. Not just for Corte Madera residents.
Hope to see you March 14 at The Corte Madera Community center. Get tickets at cortemaderalions.com
And if you want to donate something to the raffle, please direct message me.
