Today, we're celebrating the connections that start with a shared event — and last a lifetime.
Some of the greatest friendships aren't planned — they happen in the moments between the action. In the lobby before a show. At a conference table in a session. Cheering side by side in the stands.
For decades, IAVM events have brought professionals together from across the industry — and in doing so, have quietly been the backdrop to countless friendships that go far beyond the venue.
On this Best Friends Day, we want to hear from you: Who did you meet at VenueConnect, Venue Management School, or another IAVM event that became a true friend? Drop their name in the comments and let them know you're thinking of them. 👇

🌿 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 🌿
The venues we manage are more than buildings — they're gathering places for our communities, and we have a responsibility to protect the world those communities live in.
Whether it's switching to LED lighting, reducing single-use plastics, or pursuing green certifications, every action counts. Small changes across thousands of venues add up to something significant.
That's why IAVM is proud to power 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 — the first-of-its-kind sustainability benchmarking and data intelligence platform purpose-built for event venues. By sharing your venue's data, you help set the green standard for the entire industry. 💚
The 2025 data survey is open through August 2026 — and participation is free. 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: venuesustainalytics.com
Today is a great reminder: sustainability isn't a trend. It's the future of our industry.

The IAVM Board of Directors has approved a package of ten proposed amendments to the IAVM Bylaws. Find all details of this important update in your inbox.
These changes are intended to modernize language, align the bylaws with current practices, strengthen governance, and ensure the Association remains positioned for future growth.
As a member-driven organization, your participation matters. Voting members are encouraged to review the full Bylaws Explainer Document, which outlines each proposed amendment, the rationale behind it, and what it means for IAVM and the venue management profession.
Strong governance starts with an informed and engaged membership.

Thank you. 🇺🇸

Every person who walks through our doors — and every person who opens them — deserves to feel at home. 🌈
Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, and IAVM stands with our LGBTQ+ members, staff, and communities around the world.
Inclusion isn't just a value we hold — it's part of how we show up every single day.

To the mothers who manage sold-out arenas and still make it to the school play, who lead crews through load-in and load-out and still show up at home — thank you for making magic happen in venues across the world AND at home. 👏👏👏

For public assembly venue managers, a culture of safety isn't a box to check — it's the foundation of every great event.
This year's global theme focuses on healthy psychosocial working environments — recognizing that safety isn't just about physical hazards. It's also about workload, communication, stress, and how our teams feel when they show up to work.
For venue professionals, that hits close to home. Our teams operate in high-pressure, fast-moving environments — managing large crowds, responding to the unexpected, and delivering exceptional guest experiences all at once. A culture of safety has to run deeper than a checklist.
On this World Safety Day, IAVM encourages our members to:
✅ Invest in ongoing staff training and preparedness
✅ Foster open communication across all levels of your team
✅ Prioritize the mental and physical wellbeing of your frontline workforce
✅ Build a safety culture that empowers every team member to lead with confidence
Safe venues start with supported, well-prepared people. That's a standard worth committing to — 365 days a year.
