We’re looking at heat index values pushing into the 100°–105° range across the Grand Strand 😅
✅ High humidity
✅ Full sun
✅ Classic coastal “why am I sweating at 8AM?” weather
👉 That means it’s going to feel way hotter than the actual temp.
💡 Quick reminders:

▪ Limit time outside in peak afternoon heat

This week I had the opportunity to write 5 condo insurance policies for clients getting ready for their upcoming closings — from Little River down to Charleston, covering everything from low-rise condos to high-rise buildings.
Condos can be tricky because every association’s master policy is different. Some cover more, some cover less, and the last thing you want is to find out at closing — or worse, during a claim — that something important was missed.

🌪️ Your “regular deductible” might NOT be the one that applies after a storm.
A lot of homeowners know their home insurance deductible is $1,000, $2,500, or maybe $5,000…
But here on the Grand Strand, many policies also have a separate Wind/Hail deductible — and that one can be very different.
Sometimes it’s a flat amount.
Sometimes it’s a percentage of your dwelling coverage.
Example:
If your home is insured for $400,000 and your wind/hail deductible is 2%, your out-of-pocket deductible could be $8,000.

Before storm season, check your policy for:
✅ Your regular deductible
✅ Your wind/hail deductible
✅ Whether the deductible is a flat dollar amount or percentage
✅ Roof coverage — replacement cost vs. actual cash value
✅ Flood coverage — because flood is usually separate

Don’t wait until a storm is already named and headed our way. By then, options may be limited.
