Eric brought his 2014 Ram to us this week due to a collapsed lifter at 192,000 miles. He ended up upgrading to our HPT cam kit, ARH longtube Headers with cats, Vararam Air Grabber cold air intake, Mr. Gasket 180° thermostat, V6 Electric fan, and a Diablo I3 tuner with Hemifever custom tuning.

We know the hurricane engine gets a lot of hate from the diehard V8 guys, but it is just hard to argue with how simple it is to make these trucks quick. This is the smaller SO 3.0L Hurricane in a crew cab 4WD Laramie model truck with 3.55 gears and factory 20” wheels and tires, and runs 12.9 at 103mph with just a Diablo Cat6 piggyback and a K&N cold air intake. That is our $899 Hurricane performance package that can run with the 6.4 swapped Hemi trucks.

Here is Spencer’s 2017 Ram that we did a 6.4 swap on with our HPT Max cam, MMX Ported Heads, Kooks Longtube headers, 6.4 Intake Manifold, Pro Edge 4000 stall tq converter, and Diablo tuner with Hemifever custom tune. Truck ran a 12.3 @ 110mph on the street on the big 20” wheels and tires.

Leo brought his 2015 Ram to us this week due to a failed cam/lifter at 265,000 miles. He is looking to put another 250,000+ miles on this truck, so we opted to install a new non-MDS 5.7 long block with the MMX no tune required camshaft. This is not your flashy, choppy idle, big power race cam, but it runs so smooth, quiet, and the extra 25 to 30 hp and torque is noticeable for everyday truck use. This engine is so clean you would never think that the truck has over 250,000 miles on it.

On Friday, we wrapped up the second engine swap of the week. Dac brought his 2014 Ram to us because after 205,000 miles, and 2 cam swaps later, a rocker pedestal broke off of his driver side head. There was some metal in the oil control valve, so we opted to install a low mileage take out 5.7 engine for him with our HPT cam. The new engine runs smooth and quiet, but with the added power and torque of the cam to have a little fun and add some reliability to the truck as well.

We wrapped up the 6.4 swap on this 2019 ram rebel this week. This truck came to us bone stock and is leaving here a completely different beast from what it was. We installed a 6.4 car long block with the Moe’s Performance HPT Max cam, 6.4 Intake manifold with our 4” Carbon Fiber intake, Stainless Works Lontube headers, ATI underdrive pulley, custom Mishimoto oil cooler, Diablo I3 tuner with Hemifever custom cam tuning, and an AEM wideband air/fuel gauge to help dial everything in. In the 1/4 mile, this truck went from a 15.35 at 89mph stock to a 12.85 at 105mph with the 6.4 swap. That is a gain of 2.5 seconds and 16mph in the 1/4 mile in a heavy off-road based truck in complete street trim.
